Inspired by MrTheEngineer’s post from this morning about attempting to DD an S63 AMG, which you can read !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! We all know buying a German supercar when it’s out of warranty is a horrible idea. But who cares?! I’d love to DD something like this minty fresh black on grey leather C63:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So what would Oppo buy for less than 35K?

A loaded Mazda6. I wanted a Grand Touring (top of the line model) but they’re around $33k. So, I have a Touring (MSRP of $27k, I paid $25k).

1931 Lincoln Model K. It cost $34,750 how could you not want a regal piece of Americana like this?

If I had the budget for the maintenance, another E90 M3. If not a slightly used bone stock STi.

A s2000 for weekend use and some highly depreciated Acura RL for daily use

Fuck all that noise - have you seen the interiors of pre-2012 C-Class and E-Class Benzs? They’re [insertCharlesBarkley] turrible. I would get a 2014 IS350 F Sport, or maybe a CPO 335i.

If I had $35k I had to spend on cars I’d pay off my wife’s car, pay someone to sandblast Rat-L-Trap’s frame and reassemble, and then probably buy the nicest Pontiac Vibe I could find.

The Accord is a damn nice car. But since it’s not my money, I’d probably go with something like the Ecoboost Mustang or the Camaro turbo. And still have close to 10k in pocket change.

IS350 F-Sport here, too. May not be as fast as their counterparts but that interior and a N/A motor makes it awesome in my book.

Yes. V-10 all the things!!

This. And then about 5 minutes later it would get crushed.

On a serious note, I’d probably get a low-mileage AP2 S2000 and plain 3 hatch.

I would love a Renaultsport at some point in my life so a Megane 275 Trophy. I’m not buying a used car at that price range.

I would buy these following vehicles:
This 2001 BMW 740IL E38 for $6,600
This 1992 Land Rover Range Rover County for $5,249.98
and the rest of my money would be spent on maintaining those vehicles.

Mustang, bam.

Or perhaps
I do love a Challenger.
Yeah, I know most of you will be going used, but new rear wheel drive coupes are amazing.

damn that’s a great answer lol

I always say this but I wish we had French cars in the US. Not fair...
![]() 03/24/2016 at 12:04 |

I would probably buy a loaded Accord.

I would do what I plan to do 12-18 months from now:
997.1 C2S
Alternatives if the values of this take a sudden (but not unexpected) jump:
RS4
E90/E92 M3
Cayman S/GTS
In any case, a german car with a big engine, proper manual gearbox and rear wheel drive.

CPO 335 would be nice, preferably a facelifted E90 or an F30!

Me too!! I almost bought one, but got my Goat instead. Kinda wish some days I had the Porsche.

If you could find an E90 that would be sweet - presumably better steering and handling.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:41 |

Already bought it. =)
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:52 |

E90 FTW!!! I prefer them to the coupe by a long shot.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:57 |

I know! You can get some amazing pre war cars in the 30k range

Do it. Love mine. It’s an ‘08 manual I bought about 4 years ago. Not a cheap car to run (gas, tires, maintenance), but has been quite reliable and is a joy every time I drive it (almost every day).

Maybe some day! I’d love to. I’ll always be a BMW guy.

This is my first BMW, but I love so many BMWs of the past. Their only current car I’m really interested in is the M2.

Accord Sport manual for that reliable daily driver that you can drive until you retire, and a used Abarth for a huge grin on your face every time you drive it (and realizing that you are barely breaking the law while the car sounds like you are doing 160mph).
I bought an Abarth with 6k miles on it for 15k, and it is even a cabrio. You can find them for as low as 11-12k, and Accord Sport manual has an MSRP of 24265, I am sure you could haggle them down a bit.
